Yesterday our 10 week old GSP popped her leg out of socket. She was unable to use her back leg until I heard a "pop" so I'm assuming that's what it was. She already walks/runs with a slight side gait. Just wondering if that is normal for a pup or if we should be concerned.
Thanks.

Take the dog to the vet and contact the breeder with the results.

Never heard of dysplasia showing at 10 weeks. May be a " simple" injury to the hip. Hope it doesn't turn out to be serious. I'd like to know the diagnosis if you feel like posting again.

12 weeks was the earliest I have seen strong evidence of it.
Get it checked by your vet.

Same here. Sounds like an injury to me.Sharon wrote:Never heard of dysplasia showing at 10 weeks. May be a " simple" injury to the hip. Hope it doesn't turn out to be serious. I'd like to know the diagnosis if you feel like posting again.

If you think you can or if you think you can't, you are right either way

Eveb if it is a bad hip I don't think you could call it hip Dysplasia as we know it. There can always be a genetic fault or an injury but in any case you need to have it checked as soon as possible so theory can be administered quickly.

It's not how many breaths you have taken but how many times it has been taken away!
Has anyone noticed common sense isn't very common anymore.
