Is it safe to use Carprofen (Rimadyl) and Doxy at the same time?

Thanks! VERY lame dog put on tramadol & carfrofen and 14 days of limited activity Tuesday night after x-rays were unremarkable (pain isolated to right front elbow, and bad enough that he was non-weight bearing).

Was still lame as can be Wednesday morning but not lame at all 8 hrs later. Started on Doxy (picked tick off him maybe 10 days ago +/-), but wanted to make sure it was ok.

Vet mentioned that it COULD be lyme, offered to test, I said I had Doxy and would put him on it for a few days to see if he got better. He said something about some anti-inflamatories reacting poorly with Doxy, but Rx's were filled probably 30 minutes later (it was an emergency visit and he was already double-booked and running from room to room). Just wanted to make sure Carprofen wasn't one of them.

Run the full tick panel....dog could have multiple infections....one setter recently from that area had Lyme, anaplasmosis and erlichia.....30 days of doxy didn't do it. Dog is now on 30 days of amox
The second kick from a mule is of very little educational value - from Wing and Shot.

30 days of doxy didnt help the dog improve, or didnt render a negative test??
