Virus Papillomas (warts)

Post by kcbullets » Thu Aug 07, 2014 7:33 pm

These pics are great but... i believe these growths are warts (virus papillomas). I've never had a dog with these before. Anyone recognize and if so do you know best way to get rid of them? I've read on line they go away on there own but who knows how long. Also read if vet freezes or removes they stand good chance of returning. Anybody with any experience with this?

My only experience with warts in young animals was with cattle. Vet froze them off and it worked fine. Maybe check with your vet about warts on a dog. They might know what works the best.

looks like it would be very easy to remove, maybe even with local anesthetic so the dog wouldnt have to be put under. could just be a simple skin tag. I doubt it would come back after removal.

Anyone use any home remedies that have been effective?

I have used a homeopathic called thuja occidentalis. They come in small pills that you dissolve in their drinking water. Very effective in my case.

I thought I would provide an update just for information. The warts fell off, with no treatment after about 2-3 months.
