Do it now and she'll be fine for season. Mine (a five year old GSP) took about a month total in recovery before she was back to the same physical condition as before the spay. She could have hunted though at about 3 weeks out. I was running her again after the stitches came out and it took about 2 weeks for her to be up to the same strength.

Don't forget that there are internal stitches holding things closed, like the stump of the uterus, as well as the stitches in the skin. The skin heals up and you can see it, but you don't know what's going on inside.

Don't rush it, follow your vet's instructions. IIRC my vet advises about 10 days to two weeks before returning to normal activity.
