Did a progesterone test on my female on day 6 and she was at .7, at day 8 she had only increased to 1.0. On day 9, stud owner released the frozen shipment to arrive on the following week on day 15 of her cycle.

I intended to do a third progesterone test on day 11, but figured why bother, the shipment isn't coming until day 15. I waited until day 14 and then retested. Results come back the following day, so I received my third test result on day 15, the same day the shipment arrived. She had gone up to 12.8 which was from the previous day. Whoa, that was kind of high.

Vet said he felt it was o.k. and that her discharge was still reddish instead of turning brown. I left her and he planned to do an AI as soon as the shipment came in and then do another AI the following morning on day 16. It arrived and he did a vaginal examination and determined she was probably at the end of her fertile period. His recommendation was to do an all in one shot AI rather than to do two.

So, either nailed it right at the right time, or too late.

Wait 48 hrs till eggs can be fertilized.

Eggs are viable for another 48 hours before they start to dissolve.

Your 12.8 is a good number to do AI. Doing AI the next day would be good timing.

You probably hit it. All the eggs will be ripe and have the best numbers for producing pups.

With frozen you have a 12 hr window for the the connection. Waiting till higher #'s is in your favor.
