My parents had my dogs for a few month while we packed, moved and unpacked. Picked up my dogs and my 3yr old GSP has a wart thing on his stomach. Anybody know what it could be and if I could treat it in my own?

I don't like the look of it. See the vet.

From what I have read warts, viral papillomas, generally shows up in younger dogs but .... if you look at pics on the internet they take on many different looks, ALL UGLY. They are contagious to other dogs. My pup had 2-3 show up at the age of about 7 months. I read they would fall off when the dogs immune system leveled out. At about 11 months they fell off. They were around the mouth and lips. With your dog being 3 I would get it looked at by vet. It may or may not be a wart. fyi, I also read that even when warts are removed by a vet, they may return.

It is soft as if there is puss in it. Aren't warts hard?...I'm thinking that it could also be food related because my parents fed my 2 dogs Pedigree because they couldn't find Diamond in their area.

I will guarantee it is not food related

It's not how many breaths you have taken but how many times it has been taken away!

Has anyone noticed common sense isn't very common anymore.

Ok. Good to know. Just was the only thing that changed while my GSP was in the care of my parents. I'll be taking him to the vet next week. Didn't know if it was common in GSP.

Won't be going until my days off next week. Called my parents today and they said that it was worse before I got him back and that they weren't too concerned since it was going down. So Ya...I was never advised of this while he was in the care of my parents
