Shivering dog...

Post by bamacpl » Fri Oct 23, 2015 4:19 pm

When my dog sleeps/rests he is constantly shivering/shaking real bad!.....it's like he is freezing cold, but he isn't. It's 80°!
I took him to the vet & he said it's just the way he is wired (as a hunting dog) he said he has so much drive & dogs brain doesn't have the ability to just shut it off like we do.
--does this seem right?
Has Anyone had any experience with this?

10 years in the veterinary field.Shaking can be an indication of diarrhea, nausea, pain, low blood sugar. My GSP after a long day hunting will start shaking/ shivering.I atribute it to sore muscles and muscle exhaustion.

Is the dog still showing shivering? Any other symptoms like occasional vomitting or diarrhea? Dogs age? Addison's disease is one possibility.

I am not a Veteran, but since my friend is a veteran I know a little bit of it. A few days ago, he told me about the Heartworm disease which are caused mainly due to worm. If your dog is showing symptoms like coughing, vomiting or difficulty in breathing, then you should consult the best veteran. And I think you should do pest control once in your home, because many a times it happens that we can't see the small insects or worms in our home with our naked eyes, but they can cause severe problems to mankind and pets. One can check out Pest Control in Rye NY, for effective removal of pests, mosquitoes and other worms or insects.
