Limping

Post by Sharon » Sun Jan 24, 2016 3:09 pm

Haven't seen the vet yet as it is not an emergency . Just looking for other experiences.

My 10 year old setter limps on her right leg for a day after a 2 hour run. Then it's fine.
I have pain meds for that which solves the pain problem.
Also been on Dasquin ( joint supplement) for a year.

Never seen much to read much on front leg problems.

Is it shoulder or elbow? Arthritis or ....

Any experiences?

My 12 year old has been doing that for a year or so now. Doesn't appear to bother when running but when walking or just moping around he limps. Only reaction I can get occasionally is possibly a sprain of the elbow or higher in the shoulder. Has never gotten worse so I can't pin pointed either. At this stage just another mystery.

It's not how many breaths you have taken but how many times it has been taken away!

Has anyone noticed common sense isn't very common anymore.

My 12 year old is gimpy in front, too. He's been a hard runner all his life, and is straight in the rear, so his front has taken a beating. Carprofen helps him a lot. He's on Dasuquin MSM too, and does better with it than without it.

Glad to hear that- "He's on Dasuquin MSM too, and does better with it than without it." quote

I always wonder is the supplement actually makes a difference.

My 5 year old will limp on front leg after hunting once in awhile. Not sure what caused it but it always clears up in a day or two. Never really got it checked out since it always got better. I assume she is prone to muscle, tendon injuries??
