Purina is starting a service to custom make your dog food... the concept is interesting but at 4 bucks a pound I think they're going after a pretty small market.

Just Right by Purina
Re: Just Right by Purina
Sounds like a marketing idea but I don't see how it can capture much of a market due to cost. On top of that it really isn't needed except to make someone feel good. We offered this service to our customers years ago but die to costs they had to take 2 ton of feed and we could do it for about 10 dollars a ton extra due to the cost of switching and cleaning all of the equipment between feeds when we started new batch. And that didn't include special packaging except for the special labels required. It was used some by customers relying on their animal to provide them with their income but never by the pet customers. Truthfully there is not that much difference in the nutrition required except for some special animal with a rather severe problem.

It's not how many breaths you have taken but how many times it has been taken away!
Has anyone noticed common sense isn't very common anymore.

Yeah, you can pretty well get any combination you want already from all the different Purina brands offered off the shelf. This feels more like a gimmick than anything else, especially putting your dog's name and picture on the label.

I bring in the home cooked for considerably less than $4 a pound, and I know exactly what's in it. ... Unless you are talking about the food with fish as the protein, and I'm not doing that for under $4 a pound if I am honest about it. That kokonee isn't actually freenhachman wrote:Purina is starting a service to custom make your dog food... the concept is interesting but at 4 bucks a pound I think they're going after a pretty small market..........[/url]
