Water Intoxication

Post by Montana » Mon Aug 22, 2016 11:41 am

A friend I had placed a Springer pup with a few years back lost is dog over the weekend to water intoxication. He had been at a lake all day and the dog was in and out of the water throughout the day. In the late afternoon the dog started vomiting up water and became lethargic. They rushed the dog to the vet, but he died on the way. This is the second dog I've known of that died from water intoxication. If you are not aware of this, please read this link.... The dog that died was 4 years old and in peak condition..

Never heard of that. I would have though algae poisoning. Sad.

This is the second dog I know of that has died from water intoxication. The other was in North Dakota 6 or 7 years ago. I know very few people have heard of it, so that's why I posted the link. It can happen very quickly and people to realize what is happening...
