Much to broad without any specifics makes it impossible to give an answer that would mean much.

It's not how many breaths you have taken but how many times it has been taken away!

Has anyone noticed common sense isn't very common anymore.

Those that have had a dog with this disease will know all too well what PLE is. However the definition is excessive protein is lost from the gastrointestinal tract. Normally, protein that leaks into the intestines is digested into amino acids; these are then reabsorbed and made into protein again. At this point there has been no biopsy done of the intestines. We have changed his food to a low protein, higher calorie food. He is on Tylan 1/4 tsp 2x day. Cobalequin 1 daily. Prednisolone 10mg 2x daily. Cosequin DS 2 daily. Proviable DC 1 daily. His active level is pretty normal for him. But he just started breathing heavy Sunday. Today he was admitted to the vet for a plasma infusion as he is losing oxygen.
I'm looking to see if anyone has personal experiences with a dog that has has this disease.

I am not arguing with you but the term covers many possible causes. Today gluten is listed as a part of the problem in many dogs but it also is misused when enteritis is what is the problem. I was hoping you could give us a better idea of what you were dealing with and you did. Hope someone can help though it is hard when you have never seen the dog or know the history.
