Abrasion on nose

Post by jrb_113 » Sun Nov 04, 2018 6:51 am

My Brittany has developed an abrasion just behind the nose on the snout. It’s from going though thick grass while hunting. Are there any tricks for minimizing this in the future? It’s not super bad but I want to make sure I am doing what I can to keep it that way. Thanks in advance for sharing your experience.

I would try Musher's Secret. Great stuff. Use before and after.

When my Retrievers were young following hunts for Pheasant, I too thought they had abrasions of their noses. What I learned in time is that many dogs have their noses turn from black to brown as they grow up. I started gradually from the back of the nose and moving forward in time, until the whole nose if brown. I only mention this just in case....

You'll get used to the cuts and scrapes. Sometimes we have to staple them up even. Noses and pads heal quickly.
