Beaver Fever ?
Seriuos question......Dogs were swimming around a beaver "bleep",are they susceptible to beaver fever?
Re: Beaver Fever ?
Yes. Giardia. So can people. Don't seem to real serious. Some dog get quite sick and have loose bloody stool. not sure how it affects people.....Cj

A beaver "bleep"? Funny software. It's a good thing this isn't a conformation board. The best non-champions competing in each breed are known as "Winners Dog" and Winners "Bleep".

Re: Beaver Fever ?
Yeah why would it screen beaver pond
Re: Beaver Fever ?
In humans it causes abdominal pain and a lot of time on the camode, a lot of time! But that only lasts a few days. if it is not treated it also has a bad habit of coming back about a month later when a new generation hatches in your gut

(my post is off topic but you got good answers from Fishvik and cjhills.)
LOL I thought the same thing. Actually this software screens out no words that I have ever seen.. No idea why ****** appeared for dam. I prefer not to see the F word nor the Lord's name nor the swear word dam* on here. Bitch is fine if you are talking about a dog of course.

Re: Beaver Fever ?
I try my best but I’ve spent my entire adult life in the Corps and oil patch so at least I come by a foul mouth honestly. Thank goodness my kids haven’t really questioned the do as I say not as I do approach I’ve taken to language. At this point it’s probably like biting my nails, I’m too old so it’s just how it’s gonna be. I am a week into quitting chew which has been unbelievably challenging, I’ve been doing it habitually since high school, so I s’pose anything is possible if the will is there.

I've had it. Its no fun - strong antibiotics are needed to kill it off and the antibiotics themselves can make you feel like "bleep". ANY
body of untreated water can be suspect - it doesn't have to contain beavers. Any mammal can spread it thru feces/water. The actual giardia is very hard to detect in water and can involve multiple tests of the same water source. Given their otherwise disgusting habit of ingesting almost anything they can physically swallow I didn't realize dogs were susceptible other than being carriers.
Bottom line - don't drink water from unfiltered sources, despite whatever you have been doing for the last 60 years. It just takes once and it isn't any fun.
