Cestex
Cestex
the breeder i got two of my dogs from is also a retired vet. Today he gave me some Cestex 221. It was some pricey stuff but he said it is the best thing to take care of the tapeworms....has anyone else used this is is worth the price.

I previously used Valbazan, but have started using SafeGuard paste. It's way cheap.

thanks i wonder how much it is? normally he gives me a good deal on stuff so i wonder if i actually saved anything? on the bottle he has cestex #5 it was $30 total for both dogs 2.5 tabs each?
edit.
In canada its $377 for a 50/50mg bottle so about $7.50 per tab so it guess i got a good deal for the cost of it. well see how good it works

I gather that people like the Droncit because it gets every kind of worm there is.vzkennels wrote:My vet says if you have tape worms get rid of the fleas & you will get rid of the tape worms, takes fleas to complete the cycle. The only time I have had them was during hunting season when my dogs eat rabbit intestines found in the field.I understand that is a different type tapeworm then the ones carried by fleas.

Sorry, I should have said "all the varieties of tape worms". It gets flukes, too, I think.

I found this, it should be helpful. Especially, follow the link to "Cestodes of Dogs and Cats in North America".
