TX Trainers

Post by mjrcab » Tue Mar 20, 2012 8:22 pm

I have an 9 week old GSP and I'm looking for recommendations for trainers in TX. I live near Austin but I'm willing to travel for training. Thoughts and recommendations are appreciated.

If you are looking to be very active in the pups training I would check into this http://www.lonestarnavhda.org/

Looks like they train fairly close to Austin.

They sometimes hold training days at this place. Individual training is available also.

Thanks for the posts, I will look into those. Anyone else out there that can recommend a trainer for a GSP in Texas?

If you truly want to be active with the dog's training and you want to learn to train dogs, there is no one better than Ronnie Sale at Freeflight in Jonesboro. 254-463-9000. Ronnie will take the time to teach you and the dog and will help keep you from making the typical mistakes that can really hurt the dog's development or ruin the dog completely.

Thanks for the information and recommendations. I just read a thread from about a month ago on the same subject ("Pro Trainers in Texas") and Tina Carles and John Rabidou were recommended as trainers as well. If anyone has personal experience with them that they could share please let me know via post or PM. And thanks guys, this is my first gun dog and your input is appreciated.

Thanks for the recommendations and input. I've also been recommended John Rabidou, Tina Carles and Harlan Winters. If anyone has any experience with them and could send me a PM or post I'd appreciate it. Thanks.
