Training the versatile gun dog

Has anyone else read this book by chuck Johnson and if so did you find it helpful? I have just picked it up and it seems to be very easy for a beginner like me to follow and understand with a common sense type approach to training.

Change the header to "Training the Sporting Dog," and you've hit on the best book out there by far "for a beginner like (you) to follow and understand with a common sense type approach to training." http://www.ahdc.org/ahdcsite/training.php

Very clearly written and considers the companion aspect of dogs, as well.
Never try to teach a pig to sing. It wastes your time and annoys the pig.
