Small successes

Post by Equismith » Tue Jan 08, 2008 9:18 pm

As my Brittany gets older, now just under five months old, it's amazing the things she's picking up on.

"Kennel"

"Stay"

"Here"

"Fetch"

"Settle" (I use this to calm her down while I hold my hand palm flat towards her.)

...And other little things that let me know she's getting ready for some good times at training.

I think she has me responding well to her training efforts

Good for you! It's those moments that makes it all fun! :)

Children seldom misquote you. In fact, they usually repeat word for word what you shouldn't have said.

Now, you need "what the hel# is the matter with you" and "for God's sake you moron". You'll use these down the road.

And the latest... "just wait 'til I get the e-collar!"

But seriously, it makes having a bird dog even more rewarding when you can see marked progress. There's hope for me yet, I guess.
