Research that was done many years ago showed that 70% positive and 30% negative was the fastest and most complete form of training. I have seen nothing that refutes that and nothing that works any better. It is basically the way the good trainers and handlers have worked for years. I think Dr, Spock was the first one to promote all positive and look where that has got us. And the results seem about the same with dogs. Seems Hot means very little till you get burnt. Just the way it is.

I'm not advocating 100% positive to be clear. I find it is the easiest way to teach things, but not the easiest or fastest way to stop unwanted stuff.

I don't see anyone here arguing that there needs to be a positive and negative balance.
