We are in search of a Horseback/FT trainer in and/or near Nebraska to train one of our EP pups.
The trainer that we are in search of must campaign dogs in Derbies, Horseback and FT's. References must be provided and any accomplishments would be helpful. We are going to be picky about who we send this pup too, because we truly think that he will be something special.
If anyone knows of or is a trainer that thinks they might fit what we are looking for, please feel free to contact us.
The pup is only 13 weeks old so we have time, but we just want to get everything in order before its time for him to shine.
Thanks for your time,
Tony and Jodi Solie

Send ElhewPointer p.m., he would know of someone or might be interested himself as he is a active trialer and pointer man.

I sent my dog to Ben Garcia of Hideaway Kennels. So far I have heard nothing but very positive feedback from him. He wins like crazy in Field Trials and ran the AA dog of the year and the OGD dog of the year in CO last year. Check him out. He will have my EP in July till October and will be trialing him also.

There are several but not too many out your way. What type of trialing are you wanting to do? Are you looking to run in the Shooting Dog game or All-Age? All the trainers I know run derby stakes. Remember they are only derbies for one year, and they are shooting dogs the rest of their life, so don't get in any huge rush to send them off before they are ready! Also, what's your pup out of??

I am wondering what characteristics you see in a 13 week old pup that makes you think he is something special? I guess I am asking because I'm not sure I have seen anything when they are that age that tells me what they will be as they mature. Sure would help to decide which one is the one to keep if you want to run trials with them.

I guess I or we have our reasons for liking the pup that we have chosen. I didn't know that I needed to point out all the good and/or bad traits that we notice at 13 weeks old. We have seen some characteristics that we like in him and thats that.
If and when he is that dog that we think that he is going to be, we will post pictures and accomplishments.
Are you going to tell me when you pick a pup that you pick him and/or her for her pedigree only? I doubt that. You go for looks, color, pedigree, conformation and disposition and so on.
Anyhow, we will go on with our pup after all this post was about a trainer not about nit picking our new pup and his characteristics...

The pup is out of Mr. Elhew Eagleclaw (Q's Elhew Nighthawk/Elhew Royalty)
Dams side is AFTCA 9xCH Prairie Bozz Bullett/Zimmer's Cover Girl which goes back to 25xCH Miller's Silver Bullet on top and bottom
I will post pictures and full pedigree when I get them home.
Thanks for every-one's comments and suggestions. I have talked to Ben and he sounds like he is the guy for us.
