The super star

Post by Don » Wed Oct 08, 2008 4:05 pm

I got a call from a guy over in Tygh Valley that wanted to come over and run his dog on some of my pigeons. Well he got here today and we ran his dog on several birds and the guy asks to see one of my dogs work. Hoo boy, haven't worked either of them on birds in several weeks; laggart! Well I told him that and he was just sure he'd like to see what one could do.

Alright Bodie, get out here. What a stud!! Three birds and stood everyone to shot! I guess I should really put a photo of my hero in here but I didn't take one today. Oh well try an old one.

Don't think I ever posted this one before. ImageAt's my boy!

PS.

I got my little 1 year old pointer out this morning and worked her. I know what you mean. All my dogs only get worked on wild birds and she found 4 wild pheasant. 2 of them jumped up about 20 yards in front of her (young cocks or hens) and she locked up and pointed 2 mature cocks and held until I got over there from about 60 yards away to walk in on them. One bird she pointed I could not find her in the tall grass so I walked over to where I last saw her and she held while I stood there looking dumb and finally blew my whistle upon which she promptly returned from about 15 yards away and then upon releasing her she went straight back and pointed the same bird until I walked in on it. I hope you are as proud of yours as I am of mine.
