So thanks to all for the encouragement and help. Can't help but repeat how great it is to have this forum and the resources around it. Emma, my hopeless never-hunted friend, and I spent the night in Condon (central Oregon) and went out for a 3/4 day of chukars. Emma did really well as a newbie, at least I think. She chased most of the birds, and in the beginning I don't think she was doing much for pointing. Towards the last couple birds she did stop for a few good seconds to let me know what was going on, but then ended up flushing herself. No birds were shot as my buddy was on the downhill almost every time she found birds. I'm going to hit the books and see whats next now that she's kind of had her fun. Real training time. Any recommendations for how we should jump forward (without Emma not jumping forward )?
Thanks again, Wems, Don, Hustonmc, and everybody!
