walking 4 month old

I have a 4 month old shorthair. We currently go on 2.5 mile walks. Is this to far or not far enough? What is a normal distance distance? I am trying to get to 5 miles.











ya he is big now he is 70 pounds he is so gettle and loving i will try to get you more pics :D oh i forgot i am 12 years old and i am going to get his jr hunter :lol:

I like to mix up a pups length of time on the ground. This keeps things fun and the dog won't start pacing itself. At this age it should be about fun and exploring.

I would not consider this too far. Just don't turn it into a forced march type of outing.

I can't imagine any 4 month old GSP who wouldn't think a 5 mile walk was a thrill. :) ( I assume you are not dragging him at the end ; I assume this is not a cement sidewalk walk.)
