There is a Hunt test trainer in MA that just carries a plywood cut out of a gun. They let him. If you let the test secretary know you do not have a break open, they may be able to hook you up.

Good luck, Have fun, run the test like you would a hunt.

The rule specifically allow anything with the profile of a long gun. BB guns work just fine or even a plywood cut out.

The old H&R single shot in .410 should be amoug every trainer's tools, it is great for starting puppies. You can find one at most any big used gun shop for under $100. My stock is pained blaze orange, and I keep blanks for it, too.

Go to Walmart and buy a toy rifle or shotgun. Doesn't have to be anything special as long as it looks kinda like a gun and you can raise it to your shoulder as if to shoot.

For a slight fee I maybe able to rent you one ;-)

You can also ask the Hunt test secretary or chairman of the club you belong to.

I seen a 28ga for 199.99 at MEGASPORTS in Plainfield yesterday. You can use it for grouse hunting also :D :D :D
