Suggections Needed ??

Post by Maverick57 » Sun Aug 01, 2010 7:07 pm

OK , long Story short 13 month N/male weim, from the time I got him he has never made a mess in the house or crate, with 1 exception I did not get home quick enough 1 day and he wet in his crate. other wise great UNTIL he got fixed since
he has a mess if not every day it is everyother day. I do not know what to do.

Other thing He was a rescue so he is otherwise doing well be still goes to the ground when I go to attach his lead or reach down to touch. His Brother & Sister do the same, I have had all 3 for a month and a half. the other 2 are still kinda standoffish. I still in the big run with them and they will come to me in time, but it taked a bit.

Any help would be great

How long does he have to hold it? Might go back to basics.

Brenda,

Max time is 3hrs, there is somene in and out most of the day, so before anyone leaves He is let out , and as soon as anyone gets home first thing he is let out.

But I thought about starting from sq. 1 again as well. Just do not get this he has done awsome on everything then he gets fixed and this starts. Who knows

Thanks

Mav,

You haven't noticed urgency, frequency & straining, right? You're not talking about a UTI here are you?

More likely though:

Have you noticed any dribbling while walking? Females more than male but males also can have urinary incontinence caused by their newly acquired lack of estrogen or testosterone due to the spaying. The hormones affect bladder muscle tone & the bladder muscle tone may in some cases have decreased too much after spaying. Consult the vet as medication is available for this condition.

It is funny you say this, as I had a dog neutered at about 8 yrs old...He used to hold it all day in his kennel, but after neutering he would almost always go in his kennel before I would get there for evening training....

I have considered all this things, Never had a dog have any problems after neutering, SO I am hopeing this will work it self out.
I did visit with the vet and just to be on the safe side, he gave him a course of antibotics. So we will see how that goes.
will keep you posted.

Very Interesting ,Like I said never had this happen before, and every K9 I have ever owned has been fixed, So this is new to me , so I will be checking in to this with my vet. for sure if it does not clear up after the antibotics.

Thanks BigShooter
