410 hulls vs starter pistol

So I have a single shot 410 (or I could use my 12 ga), some 209 primers, and empty hulls. This would work just as good as a starter pistol for gun training wouldn't it? So I'm cheap and don't want to spend $60 on a pistol......

Just a little more awkward is all. As you know, double check you pockets to remove any live shells before you head out.

If you plan on entering any AKC events, you'll need a gun incapable of firing live ammo. That's the only issue I can think of.

I just got this one in, seems to work great. I would not want to lug the 410 around with all my other crap (bird bag etc).
