Electric / Invisible Pet Fences
I am receiving my new and first Gun Dog (DD) end of Jan/beg Feb. I live in the city limits on an acre near a hiway...what prodcuts do you recommend / not recommend? Thanks Matt

Invisible fencing is not a good idea for an untrained gun dog that will be experiencing the use of an e-collar. They also do not keep other dogs and varmits out of your dog's space. Build a dog run.
Never try to teach a pig to sing. It wastes your time and annoys the pig.

I agree with Proudag08, the best thing you can do for your dog is install a good Chain link fence or a good Kennel. Then if you want to expand the training area, after the dog
has been yard trained, get yourself a PetSmart fence and do the training it takes to use it.

We use a Kennel like this one, to house the dogs as we train, the PetSmart fence runs around the entire kennel and out into the forest where we do our initial training.
