Do pigoens wing feathers grow back?
Quite a while ago I got some pigoens to train my dog and I trimed all the birds wings so they didnt get away. But now I need birds that can fly farther than I can throw them.

They won't grow back until the birds molt. Then, the clipped feathers will fall out and be replaced by new feathers.
Never try to teach a pig to sing. It wastes your time and annoys the pig.

They will molt and the feathers will regrow.

They should molt sometime between August and October, my birds normally molt around the end of August.

Feathers will start to grow back immediately if you pull them. If you just clip them they won't lose the clipped feather till they molt and then the new will grow back in real quick. Thats true with all birds.drake handler wrote:Quite a while ago I got some pigoens to train my dog and I trimed all the birds wings so they didnt get away. It's not how many breaths you have taken but how many times it has been taken away!
Has anyone noticed common sense isn't very common anymore.

next time use rubber bands on their wings up to what would be the elbow. this way you can take them off and they can fly right away.

Sorry, I am still learning with my first pup. By pigoens do you actually mean actual pigeons or do you mean scented dummies, or quail? I need to get my pup on some live birds and was wondering what the easiest way to do this was.
Thanks for the reply to my nearly ignorant question!

Pigeons, like the ones that live on highway overpasses and poop all over the park. You may be able to catch some in a trap or net them off their roosting area, with permission, or you can buy them.
