DT collar antenna

Post by dougroch » Mon Mar 12, 2012 9:02 pm

Anyone have any issues with DT collars and the recommendation not to trim the collar belt due to the woven in antenna? Most pics I see of dogs wearing this brand the excess belt is looped back through creating a loop that may easily snag when the dog is working heavy cover. Seems like this may be a hindrance and possible safety concern for the dog.

I own a DT for duck hunting... also use it on the sises' lab to for upland. Never had a problem. My understanding is that you don't want to cut the collar. Follow the directions or pic on your box and you should be fine. There should not be any loop exposed. I never had or heard of a safety concern. I would be glad to post a pic with Molly the full collar showing- if you think that would help.
