Pointer training - NE wisconsin
Anybody know trainers in NE wisconsin? I have a 4 month old Vizsla and I am looking for some training tips. Hoping to mostly train myself, but want to get some help from time to time so I don't do too many things wrong with her.

I don't know exactly where she is in Wisconsin but if I were you, I'd contact Sharon Potter (http://www.redbranchkennels.net/p1.htm.
She works with Rick Smith often and has written several articles with him. She might even host a seminar at her place.
At any rate, their methods are straight forward and easy to learn.

Wish I would have seen this post earlier.
http://haycreekkennel.com/ in Gilman, WI is hosting a Huntsmith Foundation seminar this weekend that I'm going to. Rick Smith will be there and the owner, Sonny Piekarz does great work.

Another recommendation for the Huntsmith seminar. I attended the foundation seminar a couple weeks back in MN and will plan attending more. Rick is a great teacher and many insights were gained. Worth every penny!

Who did you purchase your Vizsla pup from? Chances are they would know of someone who purchased a dog from them that you could contact, that is if the breeder doesn't want to answer or help you with your concerns?
Though you cannot go wrong with Lee. I had my two Vizslas boarded with him and was impressed with not only his facility but his knowledge of the breed and training. If you do not mind taking a drive to the Wisconsin Dells area, Lee Dozier would be a good guy to start with. This is just my opinion, but I think working with someone who knows and deals with the same breed is going to be a wiser investment.
It sounds like you are willing to take the time and research to work with your dog. It is not easy, but it can be done. One of my buddies trained his Vizsla male, his first hunting dog, and worked the dog up to his Master Hunt Title. He did exactly what most guys do: read books, talk to reputable trainers for advice, bought a membership at a hunting preserve, and just spent significant time with the dog. But if I was a little unsure how to get things going, dealing with someone who specializes in your breed would be more advantageous for you in the long run.
