WORK AND PLAY

Post by jcalla4 » Tue Sep 11, 2012 6:50 pm

I hear people talking about using "fun bumpers" as a reward system. Does anyone do this on a regular basis? Newb question I know, but wanted to get some info on specifically how to do it. Is it like a no rules thing or do you make them deliver to hand, hold, etc. ? :?:

Depends..... I expect a dog that has been through FF to deliver to hand regardless of what we are doing. For puppies or dogs that havn't been through FF I expect it to at least get to me. I do my best to encourage hold even with non FFd dogs.

A limit on the strap is nice, but the kill has nothing to do with tradition.

When I hear about "fun bumpers" I think of labs. For my GSP a shot bird in her mouth is a reward, she could care less about a piece of plastic thrown by me. But, all dogs are different.
