Trainers In PNW
Hello All! I am new to this forum and to be honest new to owning a dog, training a dog, and hunting with dogs. My dad was always bird hunting when I was growing up, but after his last dog passed he quit before I was interested in hunting. Now I have decided to go for it. I recently picked up my now four month old Brittany. I purchased a DVD entitled "GUN DOG" by Richard A. Wolters. Using some of the techniques in the video I have been working with him. I understand it is a task to train a gun dog, but a fun one so far! My concern is wether I will be able to train him to his full potential due to a lack of resources (namely land). Does anyone know of a good trainer in the PNW preferably Washington State? Do you think I have the slightest chance at making him a good gun dog on my own? Thanks for your input.

If your in SW Washington near the Portland area? Double Gun Ranch. I had a great time training my pup with Chris.

Chris Tewes(doublegun) and Dan Hoke(dunfur kennel) are both great guys and very good dog trainers. I would feel comfortable with either.

There is no reason why he cannot develop into a good dog with you either.
