+1 on the crate training

I had this problem but the other way around.

I used to let my dog sleep on the bed until by girlfriend moved in. She put a quick stop to it.

You just have to deal with that death stare and tell him to go lay in his bed, if he doesnt want to then he can lay on the floor.

Your wife is a treasure! I was never able to teach a wife that and had to let them all go!

I let the dog sleep on the bed, he has keyed me into people robbing us so having him out and mobile should he hear something is fine with me. Even if I have to give up a little space on the bed.

I had this problem but the other way, girlfriend didn't let the dog on the bed. Then she moved out and now the dog gets to sleep on the bed about every other night (crate on the other nights).

Get a bigger bed. They help keep you warm this time of year and save some $ on heating bills.

My wife makes me kennel my shorthair every night!! She was destructive when she was younger and my wife is afraid to leave her out. It drives me crazy!! This is going to be a tough bridge to cross, but I keep trying :D

I really don't see the problem here guy's. Dog's sleep on the bed! I had a girlfriend spend the night one time and my old pointer, Otis, jumped in bed in the middle of the night and pushed her out. Found her on the couch the next morning!

LOL! My wife and EP are currently having a running fight about this!.. They are jockeying for pack position in the household! I'm staying out of that fight! My wife has kicked the pointer outta the bed, but then last night she was sitting in the chair with a blanket on her lap and the dog walked over and yanked the blanket off her and curled up on the couch with it! LOL!!!

Its funny i was gone he had his bed on the floor next to me i leave he is on the bed with her and i personally dont have the problem. I guess he will just have to learn to stay at the foot of the bed just hope the other dog doesn't start otherwise I'm going to have to get a bigger bed. I know here soon the wife and dog will be battling for position. And I'm just going to sit back and laugh. Cause she allowed it. It will be amusing.

The dog was with me before my girlfriends and will most likely be here after they leave. I like to keep her happy so if they have a problem they can sleep on the couch or leave and sleep at their own place. Next thing you know they keep things over and inch their way into your wallet too.

tie down chain attached to the skirting board with an eye bolt, put his bed next to it.
all my dogs are trained this way when they come inside they have a 'place' usually in the lounge room .
they do not get to move at will when in the house
only time on the bed is Sunday mornings, a quick romp to make the missus get up........bed gets changed Sundays
love my dogs, but my bed is my bed..............oh and the wifes

There is nothing wrong with having a wife as long as it don't interfere with your relationship with your dog, seriously guys reach a compromise let the wife sleep in the bed one night and the dog the other nights
