Do you homework and acquire a good dog of proven hunting stock.
Allow the birds to teach the dog after solid basic obedience.
Reinforce the good stuff.

Most important: do your level best to make your friend believe you are the most loved and spectacular being alive.
He/she will do their level best and then some to please.
Don't betray their love.

Train for the dog you want two years from now, not two months from now.

Don't believe everything on the internet is right for you or your dog
