training tools.

Post by jeffkrop » Sun Feb 10, 2013 7:45 pm

Im looking hard at what I should get for a collar I think the Sportdog 425 will be just fine for my brittany. Any thoughts? (p.s Sportdog is giving me $45 for warranty for a 3 year old collar that is no longer working)
I am also looking at a bird launcher but I dont really have $300 to spend. Same any thoughts
I could keep looking for pigeons and spend most of my fun money on that or get a launcher and buy less pigeons but the training might be better.

I payed $8 a peace for some pigeons this weekend and put 3 out for my 4 month out today. He loved it, I feel like he stood a little taler on the walk home.

Well, in my opinion a dummy launcher is great, but even the hand launching ones are pretty spendy, and you cant beat live birds!

Get one of the Tri Tronics Pro series collars.
Spend more on live birds and forget the launcher if you need to make a choice.

I've used a lot of different collars. Sportdog is the only brand that I have been completely dissatisfied with. If cost is an issue, there are a good many available on ebay for about 1/3 the price of new.

Having a real problem with Sport Dog right now. I wouldn't recommend them even if they paid you to take their product!
I pity the man that has never been loved by a dog!

Ok so I dont like the idea of spending $400 or more on a collar. I dont have that kind of money for one and the other is what is the diff?
I can get the sportdog cheep or a tri-tronics for what ever sport dog sells it for.
But I like the idea of buying more birds then spending money on anything else.
