Training with quail

Post by pkbirdog » Mon Apr 01, 2013 8:14 pm

I've been watch the George hickox training DVDs and he talked about the lock winged birds. In the video he uses pigeons. Will the lock wing thing work with quail?

No. You can only lock wings on pigeons.

Lock wing will also work with chukar, but why? Very easy to make a few kick traps to knock over with a foot. What are you trying to do?

Put a rubber band around the flight feathers of one wing. Quail can't take much handling from puppy teeth.
