Mid Missouri training group

Post by bigeyedfish » Wed Apr 03, 2013 8:12 am

I am a total novice when it comes to dog training, but I'm eager to learn more. Are there any groups that meet near Columbia or Jefferson City for training days? Thanks.

Bigeye,

There is a NAVHDA group that does training in both central MO and out of St. Louis. We are going to have a training day this weekend near Moberly.

Please feel free to give me a call if you are intererted: 314.518.5830

The NAVHDA guys are great - also consider contacting Tom Peak at String Creek Game Farm. He does one-on-one lessons with you and your dog and he's conveniently located just outside of Jeff City. You can work with him anytime and he's a little known secret in that neck of the woods.

Those MOUpland folks are nuts! Especially that Traditions guy!

Completely kidding, if I didn't connect with the folks in this chapter I'd be stumbling along not knowing up from down. Come out to the training day this Saturday. If you don't call the above, feel free to PM me for more info.

I have actually met tom once and had a bit of an impromptu lesson with him. In fifteen minutes I learned a lot, and he worked my dog on a few pigeons. He was great to be around. I do need to call him up soon.

Unless something goes horribly at work in the next couple days, I will be there Saturday. I'm looking forward to it.
