moving dog to outside from inside

Post by magspa » Thu Sep 12, 2013 6:46 am

My 2yo GSP (Clover) the roan one in my avatar is a pretty good house dog but now that my 8month old son started crawling around she accidentally scratches him. My wife would get pissed but i did'nt get to worked up over it. But she got him on the face a couple times and just missed his eye so i had no choice. I put her outside for good and she all worked up, pacing and yapping. She is not a fence jumper and i have a privacy fence so im just letting her have the yard to herself. The first 9months i had her inside to crate and house train, then got another shorthair and kept them both outside in a 10X10 kennel plus access to the yard. then after 9months sold the other dog and the kennel to a hunting buddy as a started dog. And moved Clover back to an inside dog. I just feel bad switching her around. Does any of you think this will cause her depression or affect her badly, or give to her a few days to adjust and should be fine? There is a covered concrete slab off the back door so she has available shade and dry ground as well.

Dogs are extremly adaptable, and ask for very little.

Most of the depression, speration axiety, grieving, etc is just psychobabble made for TV.

Dogs misbehave by our rules because they are dogs.

I think moving the dog outside is harder on the owner than the dog. I don't know if I could move an inside dog out without a really good reason. I guess you got one but it's gonna be harder on you than the dog, you've gotten to close! She's no longer a dog, she's a family member. I do the same thing.
I pity the man that has never been loved by a dog!

she is doing better after I had to use the ecollar. she was very persistent jumping at door and yapping...two things she knows not to do. only had to correct each of those behaviors once at level one stim.
