New to DD pup training

Post by chrisss » Tue Sep 17, 2013 8:45 am

I recently just purchased a DD and was wondering if the clicker training would work and what I should start working on first and when should I start. I was thinking of starting with ob now at 9 weeks or should I wait?

9 Weeks?

Walk on a leash at heel, come, sit, whoa.

That's it.

DD's don't have as much point in them as other dogs. I'd work her on pointing on a cc and on retrieving. Keep the retrieving and the pointing totally separate. DD's have a TON of retrieving desire, it's the pointing you have to keep on them about. They are great dog's and the only breed I'll own from now on.

Clicker training works great for a pup in the house.

From 8-16 weeks , in the house, ( not field), I teach sit, come, kennel up , out, leave it, no, down , quiet , whoa ....with the clicker. Insert "clicker training" in the search bar.
