When do you stop training on wild birds in the spring and when do you start training after nesting season? Thanks

In Washington state you can't work your dogs on wild bird from April 1st to the end of July.

I stop about now as the birds are paired up and the snakes are out. I don't start up again till nov. Way to many snakes before then.

Research your local game birds and their behaviors, and also your local laws and statutes. And PLEASE be responsible! The success of the nesting and hatch are vital to wild bird populations.

Thanks for the help. I would not run my dog if there were any chances of him catching a young bird.
