Has anyone used the basic two door pigeon traps, do they really work. I dont want to waste the fifty bucks.

They'll work just fine as long as you have a large flock of pigeons. I caught 7 once using bird seed and quail feed. I'll tell you what, for a dumb bird, they sure can be smart sometimes.

harge57, when i was in college station, about the time ol sarge, was a private, i built traps with two compartments, and caught many birds from the roof of the dixie chicken and buildings in down town bryan. cary beason, a cop in bryan, may have some birds, or at least he can show you his traps. he was the inventor of the two compartment trap. he catches birds by the tote sack, full. you need cannon nets if you try the diary science center, to much feed on the ground to use traps. good luck.
