Someone hit a nice pheasant rooster on the hi-\way in front of the house. Whats weird is I have not heard a crow or seen a bird around in years. The decline has been that bad.
I have a new gwp coming this spring, He wasn't in bad shape at all , So I picked Mr. Rooster up, bagged him , wrapped him and thru him in the freezer for pup training next year.
Hope not to get flamed for this, works great for getting puppies fired up.
All i need now is a porkupine for training
just found a fresh road kill pheasant rooster

I am trying to figure out why you did't eat it, and save the wings for training.

Just remember it is a "game bird" , so all rules apply.

I like you guys ....
I am getting fired up, have not had a pup in years. But also kinda dreading it as well.
But I am at that point where i am tired of fixing other peoples screw up's with perfectly good hunting dogs.
I have rescued 4 GSP's in the past 20 + years.
I never had a GWP, I dont think they would really be any different.
Hopefully they handle the cold a little better is my hope.
