Was it you? :)

Post by Sharon » Fri Jan 22, 2016 9:07 pm

Someone included great video of a dog flushing on command into a very thick area of brush , and then sitting while the gunner shot. I don't think it was a spaniel but it might have been. It was some months ago. I have used the search feature but to no avail. Any ideas? Thanks.

Hello Sharon,

This might be the video you're referring to.

No , but thanks. I did find that one. It was one large thick area of brush - maybe 50yards by 40 yards.

A few years ago there was a really good one with a lemon English pointer pointing, flushing on command , backing and retrieving on command. It appeared to be in eastern Europe, on planted pheasant. Looked all over one day on multiple message boards and could never find it again. I think the dogs name was what sounded like Jonah. If anyone has a link, please submit.

Seeing a pointer flush a bird feels so dirty. The youtube links were of good dogs though.

nothing unusual in the video to me
I came to the conclusion long ago that i'd need to let my dog flush on command on some birds if we wanted a shot at harvesting any birds .

on the first bird i'm not sure I would have released the dog ,it didn't look that thick.
but on the second bird the dogs did a great job of pushing the bird out on the shooters side of the trees
