Why won't this backing dog (machine) work?

Post by Scott Linden » Mon Jun 20, 2016 10:07 pm

So, Innotek sent me one of those remote-controlled backing dogs many years ago. It worked fine for years. Dusted it off recently and it tries really hard to cycle, but just can't get enough "oomph" in it to move the dog - the arm/servo seems to be cycling, but after that, nada. Any suggestions?

Underneath the carrying handle there's a long battery that you need to charge. I charged under 6 volt area on my charger. Plus, Walmart now sells lithium 9 volt. These are for electronics under the dog. Hope this helps!! Thanks Jonesy

Thanks Jonesy - mine uses about nine "D" batteries (ouch). Is this in addition to those?

I believe so on 2 sets of batteries. Might look n see if D size is available n lithium at Walmart. If not will be at radio shack. Were you able to find other battery on top I spoke of? You're welcome to pm. Thanks Jonesy

Found the 9-volt batt powering the receiver. But that wouldn’t have anything to do with the power of the servo would it? I’m wondering if a little lube, loosening some nuts or something might be all it takes.
