Great picture! What did you use for the weight at the end of the string?

It's a vote for some lug nut sign that people attach illegally to several of our work site fences. I then use a Folgers plastic coffee can lid for pattern, cut it out, paint it orange, poke a hole in the middle, tie twenty 24 inches of orange yarn ends together, push it through the hole so the knot is away from pigeon and secure knotted ends with a zip tie so it cant be pulled back through the hole. Loop the free end & attach it to the pigeon, use nitrile gloves to keep human scent off the bird and launch. I've seen pigeons fly out a good hundred yds doing this. Actually, yesterday I had one bird take us out from the truck at least 3/4 of a mile with spurts of the pup pointing the bird, me walk in and flush, fire the blank gun and throw dead pigeon in the air while carded bird flies off. Usually you can get the bird to flush in a more desired direction but this one had a mind of its own. Probably it's homing beacon come in to play.

Thanks
The dark liver pup with the sun lit up cheatgrass is a heck of contrast to work with.
A different angle maybe with toned down grass
