So recently purchased the ET-300 E collar. I am attempting to find my 8 month old golden retriever's working stim level. I feel like I am not getting the prongs onto his skin because his neck fur is so thick!
Any tips on getting the collar to fit properly and have good skin contact with such thick fur?

You could shave his neck. You could also not worry about it. I hold the collar up directly behind the ears, then tighten the collar so it is just barely snug. It will slip down a little and be perfect. Realize also the collar doesn't have to touch the skin. As long as it's snug, the hair will conduct it.

Put the long set of prongs on if it came with it. if you can fit 3 fingers under the collar it is too loose. a snug 2 fingers is good. Get it too tight, then back off a notch. Try placing prongs directly under head with each between esophagus. When all else fails just get him nice and wet first.
