I reckon if you can get a Cocker Spaniel to point a pigeon and flush it then not chase it ,a Bird dog should be a breeze .

Hi Robert, my spawn of the devil " Charlie Yabugger" the cocker spaniel points pheasants and will also back other dogs on a bird. I encouraged him to point on rabbits when he was about 12 months old …..coz it was the only way I could get near enough to him to stop him chasing them ! :oops: This behaviour on rabbits transferred onto pheasants when I took him dogging-in with brittanies, gsp's and Rosie the vizsla.
