Have a john deere gator for roading dogs. Need a better apparatus to get the dogs farther away from front of the gator. Probably will not road more than two dogs at s time.

Here is mine. I had a receiver hitch receptacle installed on the front of my Polaris Ranger when I bought it so I can run a winch front and back. I use the receptacle for this roading setup. It works well but is heavy and I worry about too much weight hanging on the receptacle. I plan to build the same setup in aluminum. I can run two dogs, one on each end and it far enough in front to keep the dogs out of the front tires even if they tried to stop suddenly for a kennel point. My road ditches are brushy enough I went forward vs out to the side so that I can pull over to the side of the narrow two tracks for passing traffic without running my dogs into the brush.

I use 3 sizes of steel tubing where each slides into the other so it telescopes. I can compress it when not using then pull out stick in cpl pins and go. Ive tried both round and square. The round bent up very quickly but the square is holding up great. I have bungee at the connection to the harness to give some shock absorbing. Nick appreciates that part very much. Yes he told me.Image
