Don't snatch

Whether people or other dogs snatch items from a dog/puppy it can create real problems down the road. A timid dog may become bird shy. A dominant may figure it's theirs and not want to come near. Dogs play keep away from each other oblivious to their owners.
Any of that sound familiar? My weims have such strong prey drives that I am still training steady to wsf and a finished retrieve. Actually hunting (pheasants not gentleman bobwhite) isn't a problem but the hunt tests / trials are daunting. That strong prey drive compounded by working pups together and me snatching items and I wish I knew then what I know now!
