national amateur gundog championship

Post by larue » Fri May 13, 2005 5:57 am

For all you guys who ever wanted to see a national championship,
that is a walking trial,,I would suggest you come out to pine island on sat,or sunday of the 21st,22nd of may...
There will be dogs from all over the us,and as a walking stake you can
easily walk behind and watch all the action...
it will be a kill on course for the first bird,,,so bring some blaze orange...
This trial will rotate through out the us,,so it will not be back in the
midwest for another three years...
There will be a dinner sat night,,,...
Some of the most successfull breeders in trials will be represented
by dogs they bred,,including terry chandler, dan hoke, and others...
along with several dc's running...
Come out,,and see what walking trials are all about,,at the highest level..

We wanted to come, as Rick would like to start his Fritz in some, just to see what to do. After seeing the dates it seems our 1st 2 litters are due that week before so we can not leave. Good luck to you. Rick was talking to Jim Moorehouse about his dog when we were in Ind. If you get a chance to watch him run let us know what you think. Jim is the TT Rep. Real nice fellow.

Where is Pine Island? I would love to watch some of it if I can get away.

It's not how many breaths you have taken but how many times it has been taken away!

Has anyone noticed common sense isn't very common anymore.

pine island is located in southern wi...about an hour straight north of madison,,about 2 hours northwest of milwaukee...
right off of 90/94..in fact the grounds is right next to the interstate...
you would get off at the portage exit,,and take river road west about 5 miles....
brenda,,is this the rep who guides wild bird hunts in the southwest?...I met him in booneville,,,if he is the one...
a real nice guy...
pat,,are the brath crew running your dog?..

No, she is done for the summer. She runs way too big for the course, Dennis said. But, Ruger and the rest of the gang will be there.

We were going to come up, but since she isn't running, we will wait until fall.

Good luck.

pat if she runs bigger than ruger,,I will have to watch her someday...not around here though..ruger was gone for at least 10
minutes in the badger 500...only to be found standing,,right after dennis decided he was gone too long...
she must be one big running bitch...

She has been training with Ruger since she was 4 months old. She runs way bigger than he does, but he finds more birds. Hopefully, she will mature and is already getting better with her birds, obviously. We are just so proud of her and thankful to Dennis for realizing her potential and running with it. American Field is the only Championship that CJ didn't get. Now if she can only get all of the ones that he did get.....
