2009 GSPCA National Field Championships?

Post by fuzznut » Wed Mar 26, 2008 2:02 pm

By chance, anyone here know what the dates for the 2009 GSPCA field events (Ch's) will be?

The GWPCA is holding our 50th anniversary Nationals and trying to figure out a schedule so we don't conflict for handlers, owners and all that jazz.

Thanks!

The GSPCA board sets the dates on a yearly basis so nothing is official, but....

Historically, we've started the Monday following week 41 per the AKC date schedule: http://www.akc.org/pdfs/Corres_Date_Table.pdf .

In '07, we started on 10/15. I'd wager we'll start on 10/13 this year and 10/12 in '09. You can expect the trial to go roughly 15-18 days.

This is just my best guess, and isn't anything official.

JMO,
Dave

John I was there a couple of years ago, and there might have been a few brain cells killed by some participants :D

We are great competitors..... we work hard, and then we play equally as hard when the day is done!

I've been to numerous breed nationals, and the one thing I will say for the GWP folks... we know how to have fun! And I think we truly like each other.

Some of our events in the past, were, shall we say....... over the top!

I have seen pictures. It was not killed brain cells that drew my attention. It was how, shall we say, over the top things were - at one time. I regret ever getting out of the wirehairs, for reasons having nothing to do with the wirehairs.

I was being polite and discrete talking about dead brain cells. Most can make the connection between this activity and the other things it often times leads to.

The wirehair nationals sound like a good time. I might have to load up the horses and head over to see what it is all about. I am assuming that the GWP nationals will take place before the GSP nationals so it doesn't interfere with the hunting season.

Where will they be held?

The 2008 GWCA Nationals will be at Branched Oaks starting October 18th I believe.

So I will have to decide whether to go to the GSP or GWP nationals this year.

trust me, those days are long gone. none of us can stay awake long enough for those types of nights anymore, thank goodness!

That was one year, a very naughty year.... hopefully never to be repeated.

Sorry to say we still have fun, but are becoming a bit boring.

We have 2 clients from MN. wanting Keith or I or both to come run up and run their 2 girls in the futurity (08). We'll see how things go and drawing goes if one of us can run up and run Evee & Willow or the owners have to run them. GSPC Nationals are always tight and Keith & I both help out by planting birds and gunning for the Amateur Gun Dog National.

Have a lot of friends in the GWP community and their pretty wild partiers :P   Hear it's an awesome time had by all if you wanna have a good time!!!! I know they've tamed some  :D

John,

Ask Greg. After some of those pics hit the internet, the follows years got kinda tame....but they still can out drink most.

And it seems that west = partay....east = not so much.
